Objectives of the Programme
1. Develop in our students the love for life-long learning, values and character building through Sports.
2. Build resilient and respectful individuals who possess the moral courage to do what is right and the attitude to pursue excellence.

Taekwondo-infused Curriculum
Our signature Taekwondo (TKD) Education Programme is a cornerstone of our holistic education, nurturing in every student the values of self-discipline, respect for others and oneself, and resilience — qualities that extend far beyond the training hall.
All Year 1 and Year 2 students participate in TKD training during curriculum time, with two periods per week totalling one hour of dedicated practice. As students progress to Year 3 and Year 4, they are encouraged to continue their TKD journey by opting in to further develop their passion and skills.
To celebrate their growth and achievements, Year 1, Year 3, and Year 4 students take part in two grading sessions in Semester 1, while Year 2 students complete one grading session in Semester 2 — meaningful milestones that recognise their dedication and progress.

Congratulations to Germaine Tan - Best Sportsgirl for Taekwondo at the 55th Singapore Schools Sports Council Colours Awards 2025!
Congratulations to Germaine Tan Xin Jie (Secondary 2) — Recipient of Best Sportsgirl for Taekwondo at the 55th Singapore Schools Sports Council Colours Awards 2025!
The Singapore Schools Sports Council Best Sportsgirl Award is the pinnacle recognition for the overall best athlete in each sport, based on performance in local and overseas competitions. Recipients must also demonstrate outstanding achievements and exemplary character.
Germaine represented Singapore at the National Formosa Cup Taekwondo Championships in Taiwan and the Kimunyong Cup International Open Taekwondo Championships in Busan, South Korea, both in 2025, clinching gold medals at both competitions. Closer to home, she represented Edgefield Secondary in the National School Games Taekwondo (Poomsae) Championships C Division Girls event, finishing in first place.
Beyond competitive achievements, Germaine is a member of the national taekwondo training squad and a true role model for those around her. She exemplifies excellence, resilience, and humility, and is known for her inclusive spirit and unwavering support for her teammates when it matters most.
We are proud of Germaine's remarkable accomplishments and trust that her journey will inspire fellow Edgefielders and young athletes alike to pursue their dreams with dedication and heart.
