Writing Workshops

Writing Workshops at EFSS

Whilst Sec 1 students participate in the Speech and Drama Programme, Writing workshops are also organised for our students.


Secondary  2 students signed up for the Creative Writing Workshop conducted by Ms Esther Xueming Vincent, one of the co-authors of Little Things: An Anthology of Poetry, a text which our Lower Secondary students have adopted in 2015.

Ms Esther Xueming Vincent, one of the co-authors of Little Things: An Anthology of Poetry, conducted the Creative Writing Workshop for our Secondary 2 students.


25 Secondary 2 Express students participated in a 3 hour creative writing workshop, 3rd February 2017by Mr Lansell Taudevin, a very experienced published fiction and non-fiction writer,  Mr Lansell took the students through a number of writing activities to spark their imagination and get their minds’ creative juices flowing.

Students were not only thoroughly engaged during the workshop, they were also challenged and motivated to create short snippets and brainstorming of possible character and story ideas. At the end, the students were more than a little reluctant to leave when the workshops they had definitely enjoyed the deeply enriching writing experiences and opportunities that had been afforded to them during the three short hours of the writing workshop by Mr Lansell.

Writing Workshops conducted by VP Mr Tan

Since 2014, VP Mr Tan has been conducting writing workshops for graduating students. He has conducted workshops on Expository Writing, Argumentative Writing, Situational Writing and Oral Interaction Workshops.
